Garuda Wisnu Kencana
“Located in Ungasan, South Kuta, Badung, Bali, it is one of the Large Statue Tourist Attractions on the Island of the Gods and is in the largest category in the world”.
Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park) or often called GWK, is a cultural tourism park in the southern part of the island of Bali. Here stands majestically a landmark or mascot of Bali, namely the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue which depicts the figure of Lord Vishnu riding his mount, Garuda, 121 meters high. The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park area is at an altitude of 146 meters above ground level or 263 meters above sea level.
In that area there is also a Garuda statue. Right behind the Vishnu Plaza is the Garuda Plaza where the 18 meter high Garuda head statue is placed.
Currently, Plaza Garuda is the focal point of a large hall carved with limestone pillars. And the area is more than 4000 square meters of open space called Lotus Pond. The colossal and monumental limestone pillars of Lotus Pond create truly exotic space landscape art. With a room capacity that can accommodate up to 7000 people. So, Lotus Pond has earned a good reputation as the right place to hold large events, both national and international.
The Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue was inaugurated on September 22 2018 by President Joko Widodo.

For many years, GWK has been trusted to organize large-scale events, both national and international. At Lotus Pond such as music concerts, international meetings, big parties. So, Lotus Pond is a unique place with limestone pillars on the sides and a majestic Garuda statue in the background.
Lotus Pond begins with lotuses. The lotus is the main symbol of beauty, prosperity and fertility. Vishnu also always carries a lotus flower in his hand and almost all the gods in the Hindu pantheon sit on a lotus or carry flowers.
Some interesting facts are that lotus plants grow in water, have roots in illus or mud, and the flowers spread through the air. So, the lotus symbolizes human life and also the universe.
Lotus roots submerged in mud symbolize material life. The stalk passing through the water symbolizes existence in the astral world. So, Flowers floating on water and open to the sky are a symbol of spiritual beings.
