Go to Rock Bar
Going to a bar is an experience in itself. Past the green lawn at the top of the AYANA cliff, you’ll see 2 ways to descend, both providing spectacular views from above. The first is the ‘hard walk’ down a long flight of stairs that takes you to Kisik Bar & Grill, the resort’s fine seafood restaurant with tables on the sand. Continuing to Rock Bar, you stroll along the cliff base boardwalk around the uniquely shaped ocean beach pool.
The 2nd access to Rock Bar is an easy option, by taking the cable car down. Expect queues, especially just before sunset. Here, the queue is divided into 2, one of which is the ‘fast track’ for hotel guests. If you take the ‘hard way’ along the descent it gives you beautiful and photographic moments of views of the sea and skyline, the beach and cliff base, and most importantly, Rock Bar Bali.
Rock Bar Features
Perched 14 meters above the waves. Rock Bar Bali is a small hub with expansive skies and the Indian Ocean as its backdrop. There are plenty of round tables in the lower foyer and a few more steps will take you to the main bar. And look at the road lined by glass screens.
The bar’s innovative design was designed by Yasuhiro Koichi of Japanese design studio Spin. A wooden deck area provides additional vantage points on either side of the main rock that runs along the beach. One of which is accessed via a natural cave. The cave walls sparkle with crystal-like minerals such as quartz.
The center bar is made using thousands of layers of recycled glass rods. And made by Bali-based Japanese glass artist, Seiki Torige.. The bartenders and waitress team wear signature elegant black attire. In the center of the all-weather wicker table, you’ll find an upright cylindrical menu. When you arrive here, just as the sun is setting, pick a spot and grab a cocktail straight away.
What to enjoy at Rock Bar
Among his favorites is the Rock Bar martini, which consists of mixes with unique names like Punch Rock, Rockberry Martini, and Spa on the Rock made with vodka, blackcurrant liqueur, blueberries, and cranberry juice. Spa on the Rock is also the name of the equally dramatic Ayana spa on the resort’s southern coastline. The cocktails were designed by international bar consultant Sebastien Bonnefoi, using imported spirits mixed with local fruit, herbs and spices to complement the natural setting.
